FAQ
Your questions, answered plainly.
Getting started
Can I form a US LLC without living in the United States?
Yes. Wyoming asks for neither US citizenship nor US residency. We file your company online on the state registry and request its EIN from the IRS for you.
Which documents do I need?
A valid passport, your real home or office address (abroad is fine) and a short description of your activity. The passport photo is taken after payment, from your phone.
Do I need to travel to the United States?
No. Everything happens online: signing, filing, EIN request and bank application. The only paper is the SS-4, which you sign by hand and photograph.
Can I form the LLC with partners?
Yes. You choose single-member or multi-member when you order, and each member adds their passport during onboarding.
Price
How much does it cost in total?
$489 for the formation, first year included: state fee, registered agent, EIN, documents, bank application and first Form 5472. Over 24 months, the total is $789 with the annual plan. Details on our pricing page.
Is LLCroad the cheapest LLC service in the world?
Yes: among all-inclusive offers (EIN without SSN, first Form 5472 included, identified seller), LLCroad is the cheapest of the 8 services we checked on October 23, 2026. Among complete offers that include the first Form 5472, LLCroad costs $489 for the first year, then $300 per year: less than WyomingLLC.co ($547, then $310 per year), Arc & Ledger, Globalfy, Clemta, Expat LLC, Firstbase, and doola (prices checked on October 23, 2026). Haqi shows lower prices but is not an all-inclusive offer: it leaves the first Form 5472 out of its price, does not state that it obtains the EIN without an SSN, publishes no company name or address, and does not name the pro forma Form 1120. See the full comparison table.
What do I pay from the second year?
The annual plan is $300 per year: registered agent, Wyoming annual report with its state fee, and Form 5472 + pro forma 1120 filed with the IRS.
Is there a cheaper plan?
Yes, the Standby plan at $189 per year keeps your registered agent and annual report but does not include Form 5472. It suits founders whose accountant already files their US tax forms.
Are state fees extra?
No. The Wyoming filing fee and the annual report license tax are included in our prices.
EIN and tax numbers
Do I need a Social Security number to get an EIN?
No. A founder who lives abroad requests the EIN with Form SS-4, sent by fax to the IRS, without an SSN or ITIN. We prepare and send it for you.
How long does the EIN take?
The IRS states about 4 business days for an answer to a faxed SS-4. You see the fax receipt and the EIN letter in your client space.
Do I need an ITIN?
Not to form your LLC or open its bank account: the company uses its EIN. An ITIN is a personal number for people who are not eligible for an SSN.
Bank and payments
Which bank will open my LLC’s account?
It depends on the country where you live. Mercury is our primary bank, and Relay takes over in the countries Mercury does not serve. Check yours with the bank by country tool.
Can I use Stripe with my LLC?
Yes. With its EIN and its US bank account, your LLC can open a US Stripe account and receive payouts in dollars. See the Stripe availability page for details.
Will I get a physical card?
In most countries, yes. Where the bank does not ship cards, you get a virtual card that works online as soon as the account opens.
Yearly obligations
What is Form 5472 and do I have to file it?
A single-member LLC owned by a non-US person files Form 5472 with a pro forma 1120 every year, even without activity, by April 15 for a calendar year. The IRS penalty for a missing form is $25,000. The annual plan files it for you.
When is the Wyoming annual report due?
On the first day of the month your company was formed, every year (official rule). The minimum license tax is $60. We file it with both plans.
Do I need to file a BOI report with FinCEN?
No. Under the final rule, US companies no longer file a BOI report.
Is a US LLC an offshore company?
No. A Wyoming LLC is a company registered in the United States: it is filed with the State of Wyoming, gets an EIN from the IRS and files a Form 5472 every year that reports the transactions with its foreign owner. Banks and Stripe identify its owner, and your country of residence may require you to declare it and its income.
Does a US LLC pay zero tax?
Not as a rule. A single-member LLC owned by a non-resident with no US trade or business generally owes no US federal income tax, but it still files Form 5472 with a pro forma 1120 every year (IRS penalty of $25,000 per missing form). Its income is taxed in your country of residence, under that country’s rules. We do not give personalised tax advice.
Life of the company
Does a US LLC give me a visa?
No. An LLC lets you run a US business from your country; it does not give a visa or the right to live or work in the United States. Visas follow their own process with the US authorities.
Can I close my LLC later?
Yes. We file the dissolution with the State of Wyoming, the final tax forms and stop the registered agent. Contact us when you are ready.
Do you give legal or tax advice?
We prepare and file your company’s documents and share general information from official sources. For advice specific to your situation, we can point you to partner professionals.
